Eric Roset,  self-taught freelance photographer, lives in Geneva since 1993.

Born in 1972 he spends his childhood in Lyon. As a high-school student he makes his first pictures while witnessing student demonstrations. From then on he never gives up his passion for photography that will accompany him in his professional and personal activities such as social work and mountaineering.

But it’s on the road, in the streets, discovering people’s daily life that he improves himself. Thank this curiosity he discovers the gipsy culture that fascinates him since his teenage years. During numerous journeys following their trail in France, Romania or Switzerland he “discovers reporting, “committed” reporting thank which he collects pictures of contact, the photographer taking his time and being empathic with his subject.

Since 2005, his exhibition "Opre Rom! Stand up Roma!" is travelling through Romania, Switzerland and France. He carries on with his personal work on the gipsy community. In 2007 he shows his pictures of migrating Roma in Geneva ("Post Tenbras Roms") and in 2008 his work on the gipsies and their trailers ("Camping is great !"). In 2010 he realises a new exhibition "Romnia" showing roma women from different groups.

Eric Roset published his first pictures in 2004 and started working for the Swiss press and several institutions. Since 2007, his dream has come true as he can make a living being a photographer. In 2009 he received the status of RP photographer.
